Locum – K’omoks First Nation Health Centre
This is a longitudinal family practice for members of the K'omoks First Nation and their family members, including some other Indigenous identified and Metis patients. We also provide urgent same-day access and bridging care to increase access for patients attached elsewhere.
Cultural safety and humility training is mandatory, as well as demonstrated experience working collaboratively with Indigenous peoples.
We are seeking consistent, intermittent locum coverage over the medium to long term to fill physician absences and add capacity when needed: 2-3 days of in-person clinic is usually provided weekly; for vacations, 1.5-2 days (or 3 half days) of coverage 1-2 weeks, 1-2x/year would be welcome.
For shorter absences (e.g. CME or illness), 1 day/week or 2 half days would be welcome. For the right person to support ongoing relationships and consistency with the clinic staff and patients/community members, we have some flexibility in scheduling.
Appointments are usually booked for 30 min (to support relationship-building, safety + charting time).
Compensation
Contract (locum will be subcontractor and required hours reporting will be explained) – $200/hr; Overhead 0% (provided by KFN)
Qualifications
Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
