Programs & Initiatives
Attachment & Panel Supports
In the Comox Valley, there is a well-established attachment program focused on connecting patients from the provincial waitlist, the Health Connect Registry (HCR), with physicians and nurse practitioners as space becomes available.
Patient Panel Support for Clinics
We also support the development of patient panels and new practices by directing patients through the Provincial Attachment System (PAS) to clinics upon request. In addition, we assist with the disempanelment of patients when a physician or nurse practitioner retires or leaves the community.
We work with each clinic to find the right workflow and approach to creating balanced panels. For more information, contact the PCN Operations Lead.
Looking for a Family Doctor or Nurse Practitioner?
The Health Connect Registry can help!
The Health Connect Registry is a universal waitlist for all family physicians and nurse practitioners in the Comox Valley. If you live in the Comox Valley (Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland and surrounding areas including Denman and Hornby Islands) and need a family doctor or nurse practitioner, you can register yourself, your family or others under your care. When a provider becomes available, you will be contacted by your local attachment coordinator in the order in which you registered.
Telephone assistance is available by calling HealthLinkBC at 8-1-1, or for the deaf and hard of hearing, 7-1-1. Translation services are available.
